Keke Palmer Puts Baby Bump On Full Display During ‘SNL’ Opening Monologue

"I am so excited, guys. I want to be a mom," the former child actor beamed.

Keke Palmer has landed her next role: Mama! It was a monumental weekend for the Nope star, who not only made her Saturday Night Live debut, but her public debut as an expecting mom, too.

Palmer wasted no time getting down to the nitty gritty during her opening monologue. “There are people in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant,’ and I want to set the record straight,” Palmer told the audience, before immediately cheersing, “I am!”

With that she opened her jacket, revealing her growing baby bump.

“This has been the biggest blessing,” the mom-to-be said grinning from ear to ear amid the room’s applause.

While a joyful time in her life, Palmer admitted she wasn’t prepared for how hard it would be to field the pregnancy rumors despite there being truth to them.

“I gotta say. It’s bad enough when people spread rumors about you but it’s even worse when they’re correct. I mean, I was trying to keep it so hard to keep it on the down low because I have a lot of stuff going on,” Palmer explained.

She continued, “People kept coming up to me, ‘Congratulations?’ I’m like, ‘Shh! Can y’all stop? I have a liquor sponsorship on the line!’ Once the check clears, then we can get to the damn baby shower!”

As a former child star, Palmer understands that some of her day one fans may be a bit shocked about this next chapter in her life. In some eyes, she’s still True Jackson.

“Even though some people feel a little bit weird about me having a baby because I’m a ‘child actor.’ Look: I’m 29, I’m grown, I have sex, I owned a home, I stormed the capitol on January 6 — you know, things adults do,” Palmer laughed.

With a baby shower on hold, Palmer refrained from sharing further details about her little bun in the oven — but that hasn’t stopped us from brainstorming possible baby names! We can totally see as Palmer as both a boy or girl mom. Congrats, Keke!
