Renée Zellweger made a rare red carpet appearance in a Belle-yellow dress

Guess who’s back? It’s Bridget Jones. We mean, um, Renée Zellweger. After taking a long hiatus from acting, she reemerged on the red carpet for the Same Kind of Different As Me premiere. There, Renée turned heads in a canary-yellow Carolina Herrera gown because, hey, if you’re going to return, why not do it in grand style?

Though the color was in your face, the overall look of the dress was pretty demure. Between the cap sleeves and ankle-length hem with an asymmetrical slit, Renée made it clear she hasn’t lost her glam style.

In true Renée fashion, she kept her look elegant with a statement cocktail ring and pointy-toe pumps.

It only made sense that Renée stepped into a Carolina Herrera design straight off the spring 2018 runway. The designer has been responsible for some of the actress’s most memorable fashion moments.

We’re suckers for a dress with pockets:

Sheer perfection:

We’re ecstatic to see the Oscar winner back on the red carpet. When speaking on her six-year break from Hollywood, Renée told Vogue U.K. that she was sick of the sound of her own voice and needed a break.

“I was fatigued and wasn’t taking the time I needed to recover between projects, and it caught up with me. I got sick of the sound of my own voice: it was time to go away and grow up a bit.

Even though she’s been intentionally MIA from the big screen, last month, the Texas native quietly volunteered at animal shelters after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. She pitched in by cleaning crates, doing laundry, and walking the animals.

We love an actress who isn’t afraid to give back.
