We will never, ever forget the time Prince was on “New Girl”

As we sit here, reeling from the unexpected death of Prince, we’re flooded with memories from his sensational career: the Purple Rain tour, number one hits like “Little Red Corvette,” Grammys, Oscars, Super Bowl Halftime performances, and musical genius that was plainly obvious even to the casual observer. Among those Prince memories is one that sits close to our hearts, and which we’re so humbled by and grateful for: Prince guest-starred on New Girl.

In what is now one of our favorite television moments, Prince and Jess share a park bench, some relationship advice, and a song. After the episode, Prince and Zooey Deschanel even released a song together, “FALLINLOVE2NITE.”

So why was Prince on New Girl? He was a super-fan of the show, and actually contacted both Zooey and Hannah Simone directly to see how they could collaborate. The result is a New Girl episode fans will never forget, and an experience that those on set that day will always remember.
