People really want Zoë Kravitz’s real life parents to play Bonnie’s mom and dad in “Big Little Lies”
By now, you’ve probably seen the amazing news. Big Little Lies is officially getting a season 2, and we couldn’t be more ready! The first season of the HBO series was a smashing success with a storyline that left us craving more. Honestly, seven episodes just weren’t enough. But now that there will be another season, not only will our binge-watching desires be satisfied, we’ll also have the opportunity to delve deeper into the backstories of the ladies (and maybe the men) of Monterey.
In fact, many fans of the show have already been coming up with theories and casting ideas. And that includes tapping Zoë Kravitz’s real life parents to play her character Bonnie’s mom and dad, two of the four new characters in season 2. And nothing has ever made more sense to us!
We’re pretty sure the role of Bonnie Carlson was created with Zoë Kravitz in mind. The Big Little Lies character is basically the rich version of the #CarefreeBlackGirl archetype come to life. So her parents, Elizabeth and Martin Howard, are sure to be plenty interesting. Vulture got their hands on the Big Little Lies character breakdowns, writing, “Elizabeth is described as someone who has passed on her outwardly Zen qualities to her daughter Bonnie, but ultimately reveals herself to be controlling and abusive. Martin is emotionally distant toward his daughter, but a family emergency forces him to address the strain between them.”

How amazing would it be to have Zoe’s actual parents on Big Little Lies?
If you think about it, musician/actor Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet would truly be perfect for the roles. And based on the descriptions, we can already picture Lisa as the zen mama bear. Of course, Twitter chimed in with their thoughts.

After all, Lenny and Lisa don’t just look like they could be Zoe’s family. And casting them would certainly be an easy decision.

We’d be all the way on board for Zoë’s parents to play Bonnie’s parents, but if we’re being honest, we’re just happy Big Little Lies is finally coming back. Anything else is just a bonus.
