Zendaya believes that gender-neutral clothing is “the future of fashion”

When Zendaya speaks, we listen. Yes, the actress, activist, singer, and model may only be 21, but to call her wise beyond her years is an understatement. The actress is one of our favorite celebrities for a reason, especially because she’s outspoken about causes close to her heart. And yes, this is even true of her unisex clothing line, Daya by Zendaya, which she co-designed with her stylist, Law Roach. In her cover story for January’s issue of InStyle, Zendaya called gender-neutral clothing the future of fashion, proving once again that she just knows. Her clothing line follows this ideal, with shapes and silhouettes for every gender expression out there.
No, Zendaya didn’t invent genderless clothing, but she has made a name for herself not because of what she wears or who she dates, but because of what she believes in and stands for — gender neutral fashion being no exception. In her interview with InStyle, the superstar was asked about her unisex approach, and of course she offered up some wisdom as a response:
“I just felt that if I’m going to do a clothing line, that’s the only way I see it being done. That’s the future of fashion.
You heard it here first, folks! The future of fashion isn’t female or male. It’s for anyone.
And thankfully, we have Daya by Zendaya to enjoy those prospects with.

There’s nothing this woman can’t do, and we’re pretty sure that includes changing the world for the better, too, one unisex look at a time.
