Zendaya channeled Poison Ivy at the 2019 Emmys, and Twitter is living for it
She may have starred as MJ in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, but Zendaya went full DC and channeled Poison Ivy at the 2019 Emmys last night, September 22nd. And Twitter was feeling the villainess vibes, as are we.
Zendaya—who currently stars in the critically acclaimed HBO series Euphoria, which will be eligible to receive Emmy nominations next year—walked the purple carpet last night in a stunning emerald green Vera Wang number. The bodice was sheer and boned, and the skirt came replete with a thigh-high slit. Zendaya wore the dress with matching green satin heels, diamond accessories, and auburn red hair. The look, of course, was everything.
But TBH—did we expect anything less from Zendaya?
We’re in love with the Poison Ivy aesthetic, but we’re more in love with Zendaya and all that she does. Cue the internet freak out:

Okay, it’s decided. We’re officially petitioning for Zendaya to star as Poison Ivy in a DC Comics movie at some point in her life. And if they need help designing her character, we also petition for Vera Wang to get involved. Obviously, these two are the dream team we need to see more of.
