One year after her father Robin Williams’ death, Zelda Williams has a powerful message for those struggling with depression
Since her father Robin Williams’ tragic death in August of 2014, Zelda Williams has emerged as an important voice. Whether she is standing up to internet trolls or speaking out about the realities of losing a loved one to suicide, when Zelda has a message for us, it’s invariably filled with wise words we all need to hear.
Recently, as People reports, Zelda took to Instagram to write about a magical night she recently spent with her loved ones, and her meaningful takeaway from the experience.
We are blown away by how much Zelda was able to pack into one short post. She not only touched upon a profound personal truth (“Avoiding fear, sadness, or anger is not the same thing as being happy. I live my sadness every day, but I don’t resent it anymore”), but she was also able to expand that truth out and say something important and meaningful to anyone suffering from depression (“I know how dark and endless that tunnel can feel, but if happiness seems impossible to find, please hold on to the possibility of hope, faint though it may be.”)
We are so grateful to have Zelda Williams in the world, sharing her wisdom and wonderfulness, and we wish her many, many, many more magical moonlit nights.
