Awww, 1D gave props to Zayn Malik at last night’s Billboard Music Awards

Well this is heartwarming!

After months of contention, the boys of One Direction seem to be making peace with their former band member, Zayn Malik.

At last night’s Billboard Music Awards, the foursome took the stage to accept their award for Top Duo/Group. After dishing their usual thank yous, the guys gave a nod to a very special someone. “There’s one more person to share this with,” Liam Payne said, “and that’s our brother Zayn”.

Last night’s shout-out to Zayn came just days after Louis Tomilson cleared the air on his [very public] feud with the former band mate last Thursday. “It’s just one of those things that Twitter’s great for connecting with the fans, but also if you feel like saying something you probably shouldn’t, it’s also good for that — or bad,” he told James Corden on last Thursday’s edition of The Late Late Show.

Considering the fact Zayn has helped build the group for the last five years, those props were much deserved. Not to mention, we’re really happy to see 1D taking the mature approach to this situation.

Needless to say, this kind gesture warmed our One Direction-loving hearts. Though the prospect of Zayn returning to the group seems unlikely at this time, we’re just happy to see the guys extending olive branches instead of insults.
