Zac Efron says Zendaya might be his “favorite” on-screen kiss
He’s had a lot of on-screen kisses before, so being named a favorite is a true honor. Zac Efron said Zendaya was his favorite kiss, and we’re wondering if she felt the same way.
The two are currently promoting their film The Greatest Showman, where they play a pair of young performers named Philip Carlyle and Anne Wheeler. Both are inspired by the magical world of P.T. Barnum — and have a pretty strong romantic connection. The musical is due out this Christmas, and it looks like a must-see.
Since they kiss in the film, interviewers obviously had to question the pair about how it all went down. Sure, an on-screen kiss is no longer a big deal for these performers since they’re professionals, but — it’s still kind of fun to learn more. And more is exactly what Efron gave.
“This might be my favorite kiss, I think ever,” he said during their press tour. “Just because at this point for these characters, it’s so built up, the tension between them is so strong, and literally, just a glance between them is electric. And when they finally have the courage in that moment to finally connect and get that kiss, it’s that epic musical moment.” Well, now we have to see it.
Zendaya also had a few words to say about the kiss.
"When you're into a character, the whole time, they're not allowed to as much as touch, talk, speak, have a moment between each other; so every moment, even if they're just touching, is incredibly special. It's not just another kiss. It's different. We try to take ourselves out of it and become these two characters, and that's their moment," she said.
It sounds epic.
It seems like the two of them have a ton of chemistry, and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves when The Greatest Showman hits theaters on December 20th.
