Zac Efron dyed his hair platinum blonde, and we have to ask…is he having more fun? The Greatest Showman actor took to Instagram on January 9th to share a snapshot of himself harnessed on a rock wall. Visibly perceptible under his black beanie? Blonde hair. Fans immediately took notice of Efron’s new locks, with one commenter writing, “You have lots of new looks,” and another writing “Daddy with the damn highlights YAS.”

While the photo leaves much to be desired, Twitter users were able to provide more concrete receipts of the High School Musical alum’s new ‘do. One user wrote, “Uh I’m actually really here for Zac Efron dying his hair blonde???! I mean, HE could get away with any look but still…”

Efron is set to star in the upcoming Ted Bundy thriller film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, in which he plays the titular serial killer. The film chronicles the crimes of notorious serial killer Bundy, and will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 26th.
We still have so many questions. Like, is the new platinum blonde ‘do for a role? Or perhaps Efron just wanted to switch up his look from his signature brown locks. The actor’s blonde coif calls to mind Pete Davidson’s platinum blonde buzz cut. As many will recall, the Saturday Night Live actor debuted a drastic style change in July 2018.
