Zac Efron shared a photo of him on set with Lily Collins, and they look this in love because she doesn’t know he’s a murderer
In case you haven’t seen the many, many Instagrams — or just like, don’t subscribe to Zac Efron updates — the actor is currently in the middle of filming a brand new movie, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile. This movie will be unlike all of Efron’s other movies, simply because of the fact that in this one he plays a famed murderer.
Yes, our boy Troy Bolton is leaving behind his life of musicals (again), and stepping into the complex and complicated role of Ted Bundy, a serial killer who murdered multiple women during the 1970s. The story of Bundy alone is downright terrifying — he spent almost two decades killing his victims, and the number is upwards of 30 — but the scariest part might be that his long-time girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, had no idea his murder spree was going on.
Efron’s new movie is actually told from Kloepfer’s perspective — how she was able to piece together Bundy’s other life and eventually help the authorities capture him. To play this role of unknowing-but-later-hella-important girlfriend, the movie has cast Lily Collins.
While over the last few weeks we’ve been seeing picture after picture of Efron, the actor just shared the first look at him and Lily together on set, and they look so happy and in love! And obviously this is because she doesn’t realize that he’s a cold-blooded killer.
Efron captions his picture, “When Ted met Liz,” and Collins actually shared the same picture to her Instagram with the same caption. Aww, adorable. We can’t wait to see these two together on screen, because their chemistry will probably be electric.
Except that we really shouldn’t root for this couple, because of the whole “he’s a killer” thing. But we will most certainly tune in to see how Liz is able to figure out Bundy’s secret spree, and how fabulous she’ll look in her ’70s threads while doing it.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile doesn’t have a release date yet, so we’ll just hold onto Efron’s IG pictures until we can see it up on the big screen.
