Zac Efron posed with the cast of Broadway show “Dear Evan Hansen” and it makes us wish Zac would do another musical

Is there any greater time for multi-tasking than the last week of the year? We wrap presents, we make our NYE plans, we burn our balsam scented candles — and if you’re Zac Efron — you revisit your theatrical roots by seeing Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway. The Hairspray star visited the Great White Way this week to catch the new musical about a boy who “accidentally” submits himself into another high schooler’s tragic story. Efron is Broadway royalty without ever having stepped on stage. He surprised Evan Hansen actor Ben Platt as well as the hit ensemble cast in what’s gotta be one of the coolest Christmas presents of all time.

Oh, Zac Efron. Your presence is presents enough.

The actor has been everywhere in 2016, starring in Dirty Grandpa, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Neighbors 2 and more. Efron’s outing to the Music Box Theater is no doubt just a tiny break from the madness.

The show’s star, Ben Platt, was over the moon at the surprise visit. “Troy Bolton came to see Dear Evan Hansen and middle school Ben had a freak out (so did 23 year old Ben)” captions Platt on this Instagram shot. But what, exactly, takes the cake? “Did he wear a Dear Evan Hansen scarf? Bet on it. Bet on it.”

What’s on the horizon next for Zac? Why, Baywatch of course. Oh, you think we’re kidding? We are so not kidding.
