You’ve got to see how incredible Taran Killam looks dressed as “Hamilton’s” King George

We were so sorry to see him leave Saturday Night Live, but Taran Killam starring in Hamilton as King George is perhaps the best move ever. News broke of this incredible casting decision not too long ago, but thanks to Killam himself, we’re finally seeing what he looks like in the king’s threads. Spoiler alert: He looks quite good.

Rory O’Malley, the show’s last King George, ended his run with the show this Sunday. Today marks the first day of Killam’s turn with it, and we have no doubt that he’ll be successful. After all, he was one of the funniest and most natural cast members on the last few seasons of Saturday Night Live. If he could conquer live television, Broadway will be a breeze for him.

Killam even manages to make his caption funny.

"King me. Tomorrow's forecast: Reign," he wrote.

There’s something about those hair curls and his wardrobe that’s giving us weird memories of one of his best Weekend Update characters, Jebediah Atkinson.

(Of course, Atkinson wasn’t a royal — he was just pretty grumpy.)

Killam has also been busy with television. A few months ago, he wrapped up a pilot for a Showtime comedy called Mating, which also features actor Jim Belushi. Killam’s character is a young man who recently got divorced, and is trying to navigate the dating world once again.

Judging solely by this censored photo, we have a feeling it’ll be a must-see.

We wish Killam the best in Hamilton tonight, even though we already know he’s going to do a fantastic job!
