The Young Han Solo movie has added another actor in a mysterious role

We have some exciting news from a galaxy far, far away: The Young Han Solo movie has added another actor to its cast, and this actor is no stranger to fantastical cinematic universes.

Paul Bettany — who is known for his roles as Jarvis and Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — has joined the untitled Star Wars spinoff in a mysterious role.

Director Ron Howard announced the Young Han Solo movie news via Twitter on Friday, which was none other than Force Friday.

"The Outer Rim just got a little bit wilder #PaulBettany #ForceFriday," he wrote, alongside a photo of the two of them seemingly on set.

Howard went on to add that its not the first, not the second, but the third time the pair have worked together. They previously collaborated on A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code.

As for Bettany, he was grateful for the opportunity.

"It's a dream come true," Bettany wrote.

There’s no word yet about who Bettany will be playing exactly.

Some reports claim that Bettany will fill the role left vacant by Michael K. Williams, who was set to play a half-animal, half-human character but had to leave the project due to scheduling conflicts with reshoots.

But, Deadline reports that Bettany won’t fill that role. “Instead of being a motion-capture alien, he’ll be a real person,” the outlet writes. “Sources tell Deadline that Bettany will be playing a completely different character.”

Whoever Bettany plays, odds are his character will somehow be connected to the aforementioned Outer Rim, which is the outer rim of the galaxy where Han Solo has been known to get into sketchy activities.

We’ll find out for sure when the Young Han Solo movie flies into theaters on May 25th, 2018.
