You can now place your Starbucks order through Amazon’s Alexa because AI is lit!

The future is here, y’all. You can finally place your Starbucks order using Amazon’s Alexa. Our days of ordering in person are over…in case you were sick of it.

We know that Amazon’s Alexa is a pretty impressive machine. It can turn on the air conditioner, answer your cooking questions, and turn on Pandora, but now it comes with coffee. Okay, technically Alexa doesn’t literally bring you coffee, but you soon can use it to order some.

On Monday, Starbucks announced that they will soon allow their customers to order drinks using their voice and Alexa. Plus, according to Brit + Co. the coffee company will also be adding an ordering feature to their mobile app.

So how does it all work? When using the new Alexa skill called “Starbucks Reorder,” you can place your regular order as you are running around your house. All you need to say is, “Alexa, order my Starbucks” and like that it’s ordered your Venti Chai Tea Latte.

In regards to the new app feature called “My Starbucks Barista,” it will give customers the freedom to order and pay for both food and drinks with the sound of their voice. Everything is currently being tested, so by summer 2017 hopefully we will see the changes.

While this sounds wonderful, now what’s going to happen if the order is incorrect? It would be your voice’s fault not messy handwriting, or someone hearing it wrong. That’s no good.

Just to be clear, the future called and Alexa answered…with Starbucks in hand!
