You Are Now Free To Pee During a Movie
Ding dong, DOMA’s dead, and the rising temperatures can’t stop all the LGBT Pride Month celebrations. Let the rainbow flags fly high on this final weekend of June 2013! Need a quick cool down? We’ve got the tunes to help you beat the heat.
While you rock out, why not also enjoy a brand spankin’ new volume of “The Week In WHAT?!”
To Pee Or Not To Pee: That Is The Question
When you gotta go, you gotta go – except when you’ve spent $10 to $20 on a movie ticket and nature calls. That’s when heading for the bathroom becomes a difficult decision. Do you risk having an accident or missing an important scene? If you’re not wearing Depends, you’ll likely give in to that uncomfortable sensation down below. By the time you get back to your seat, your friends will probably be too invested to explain everything that happened while you were taking care of business. Well, the people of AMC Theatres now have your bladder’s back. They’ve released an update to their mobile app that features RunPee. As you head out to potty, just click the RunPee button to find out about all the plot points you missed. They’ll even give you a heads up as to whether or not you should return for a post-credits surprise. Now you’ll never have to be afraid to let it all out!
Cops and Robbers: Going Green Edition
Who says thieves can’t also be environmentalists? Two men in Manchester, New Hampshire recently learned that using an environmentally friendly mode of transportation as a getaway vehicle following a robbery might not always be the best option. You know, unless you’re looking to get caught. Police apprehended the men as they fled the scene of the crime (a local liquor store) aboard a tandem bicycle. The men allegedly tried to pedal away with about $22 in Kahlua and Courvoisier. Clearly, they were also looking to save on paper and plastic as they hid their spoils down their pants. Hey, it’s not easy being green.
Attack of the Panhandlers!
Anyone who visits or lives in New York City is sure to notice a few eccentrics among the crowd, especially in Times Square. You’ve definitely got your pick of “characters” between those walking around dressed as Elmo and Spiderman or the panhandlers holding signs such as “I Need Money for Weed” and “I Need Beer.” Perhaps the theater district is becoming overcrowded territory, which could explain why the latter two got into a tussle. The very public display of non-affection led to the “Weed” guy stabbing the “Beer” guy as audiences were exiting nearby Broadway shows on 42nd Street. Well, a trip to the Big Apple is never complete without some drama!
From Springfield With Love
Fans of The Simpsons, rejoice! The Porcubimmer Motors team has turned Homer Simpson’s fantasy car into a reality. According to Geekosystem, the real life version of “The Homer” follows good ol’ Homie’s design almost to a T. It only took 22 years after the episode “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?” aired for someone to make this Springfield dream come true. Are the flying cars from The Jetsons next? One can only hope! In the meantime, check out “The Homer” in all it’s glory:
