You are not going to believe that this “Star Wars” legend has never seen any of the movies
If you’re into all things Star Wars, get ready to freak TF out, because this legend never actually watched the films. You may or may not have heard of John Williams. But you’ve definitely heard him! According to Movie Pilot, despite John Williams creating the score for the Star Wars saga, he hasn’t actually *ever* seen the movies! Yeah, we’re baffled, too.
Williams, who also did the scores for Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Arc, Harry Potter, Home Alone, and more, is a pretty major deal. He knows his music is huge, and that what he created for Episodes I-VII is beloved in a big way. When it comes down to it, it isn’t like Williams has anything against the films, but rather that he hasn’t actively sought them out just to hear his own music.
"It’s probably the most popular music that I’ve done. I let it go. I have not looked at the Star Wars films and that’s absolutely true."
The Star Wars composer explained to The Daily Mirror why he doesn’t bother watching the films despite all the work he put into it, saying,
"When I’m finished with a film, I’ve been living with it, we’ve been dubbing it, recording to it, and so on. You walk out of the studio and 'Ah, it’s finished.'"
Like, woah. Now that we think about it, and hear him out, we guess it makes sense for him to not watch the movies. He has spent an awful lot of time with the score! Maybe it’s like actors that never watch their own movies. We’re not sure we’d have that level of restraint, but we respect him. You do you, after all!
