The first ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ trailer is here and OMG
The biggest takeaway from the brand new X-Men: Apocalypse trailer is that everyone you know and love is now a mutant.
Like, Jennifer Lawrence. She’s been a mutant before, and she’ll be a mutant once again. But, can Sophie Turner be a mutant, too? Good news, she’s going to predict the end of the world! How about Olivia Munn — LOVE her — can she gets some awesome powers as well? Don’t worry, she can. There’s also Evan Peters, who once again races in as speedster Quicksilver. And what about Oscar Isaac? Certainly there’s some mutant for him?
Yup. Isaac is not only a mutant, but he’s the baddest and worst mutant yet. Also, he’s immortal.
If you think there’s a lot going on in the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, it’s because there is. This is the third outing for the X-Men prequels (and sixth X-Men movies all together) and this one takes us back to the ’80s. We’ve got bright colors and big hair, and word has gotten out that this big, bad, mutant Apocalypse, is gearing up for something: war.
Can Charles Xavier (James McAvoy, once again) and his students at his School For Gifted Youngsters stop him? Right now, the odds don’t look good. Sure Charles has got Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan). But Apocalypse has Magneto (Michael Fassbender). Once again, X-Men will be pitted against X-Men.
Also, let’s take a second and really appreciate Rose Byrne, the lone non-mutant in the movie, who reprises her role from First Class. Byrne can slip seamlessly between comedy and all-out mutant warfare like it’s nobody’s business.
Buckle up, and check out the trailer below. X-Men: Apocalypse lands in theaters on May 27, 2016.
