‘Frozen’ Fans: Get Psyched For More Girl Power

Attention all Frozen fans! Attention all Wrinkle in Time fans! (That’s everyone, right?)

Variety has reported that Jennifer Lee, the writer and co-director of Frozen, has been given the green light on her next project: Madeleine L’Engle’s classic book, A Wrinkle in Time. The book was originally published in 1962, and was one of Lee’s favorite books as a child. We can certainly understand her fascination. What’s not to love about traveling to planets in different dimensions, magical flying creatures and supernatural friendships?

For those of you who need a quick refresher, A Wrinkle in Time is the story of a young girl and her 5-year-old brother who set out on a journey to find their missing father. Together they travel through time and visit strange worlds, making friends along the way.

Lee, who also co-wroteWreck it Ralph, will write the screenplay for AWrinkle in Time, and just like Frozen, Lee’s take on the film adaptation will emphasize a strong female-driven story. It hasn’t been reported on whether the film will be animated or live action, but one thing is clear—anything Lee writes, people will love.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Frozen is the highest grossing animated film of all time. OF ALL TIME! That’s so much time! You probably fell in love with A Wrinkle in Time when you read the book as a kid, and possibly again if you happened to catch the made-for-TV movie in 2003. So, if the movie turns out to be anything like Frozen, chances are, you will fall in love even harder.
