Wrangler’s new “Summer of Love” collection will inspire you to jump on the ’70s nostalgia trend
Wrangler is turning 70 this year (insert balloons and streamers!) and to celebrate the milestone, the iconic denim brand has released a “Summer of Love” collection. Wrangler, in partnership with artist Peter Max — known for his bold, colorful pop culture paintings — put together a slate of tees, jeans, jackets, sweatshirts, and other goodies so purely nostalgic, you’ll want to raid your parents’ old wardrobes for even more ’70s goodness.
This collection isn’t just a celebration of Wrangler’s seventh decade, though. It marks 50 years since San Francisco’s Summer of Love — the summer of 1967 — a time when hippiedom ruled the Bayside city, and Max’s artwork was absolutely everywhere.
Max, who has been creating and innovating for decades, even teamed up with Wrangler back then (in the early ’70s) for a colorful, highly sought-after collection, and he clearly drew inspiration for this new line from that endeavor, updating fits and fabrics for the modern age.
The new collection is available now on Yoox.com, and a second delivery will drop in August, just in time for back to school. For now, shop our favorite “Summer of Love” women’s wear below!
