The view from the world’s tallest roller coaster is insane
I’m about to bring you some roller coaster news that will either leave you super stoked or give you heart palpitations. I’m somewhere in the middle, but definitely more on the heart palpitation side of things.
Carowinds Amusement Park in Charlotte, NC has given the world a preview of Fury 325, the world’s tallest and fastest “giga coaster” in the world, which will make its debut this Spring. For those of you who aren’t familiar with roller coaster vocab, a “giga coaster” is a complete-circuit roller coaster with a drop ranging in height from 300 to 399 feet tall. That’s basically in the clouds, you guys.
Fury 325 will ascend to 325 feet and then make an initial 81 degree drop, catching speeds up to 95 miles per hour. To put things into perspective, the Statue of Liberty is 305 feet tall, and I think some of us may know what 95 miles per hour feels like. (Too fast, people!)
Want to check out a POV video of the first test run on the Fury 325? The first-person experience will make you feel like you’re actually on the ride, except without the fear of falling. Strap on your invisible seat belts:
