When it comes to kindness, mermaids believe you should begin with yourself

Today, we celebrate World Kindness Day, which seems interesting to us mermaids — since we think we should practice kindness every day. Not only because researchers have found that there is a positive feedback loop between happiness and kindness, but because even a small act of kindness can make a huge difference.

In order to be kind to the world, we must begin by being kinder to ourselves. Most of the time, we are so preoccupied with the need to be kind to those around us, we don’t fully realize the importance of being kind to ours bodies, our minds, and our souls.

When we are angry or sad with ourselves, it’s not easy to be kind to others. That’s why — every day, but on this day especially — we should practice self-kindness, less judgment, and a lot of treating oneself. (You’re a mermaid, too, so just treat yo self.)
