This is why you won’t see Jennifer Lawrence working on another film for two years
To all of our Jennifer Lawrence fans, we have some bad news. Thankfully, it’s not that bad, but it’s still a little upsetting. After an intense and grueling season filming Mother!, Jennifer Lawrence has announced that she doesn’t have any projects planned for two years. After all the energy she expended on the movie, not to mention a torn diaphragm from hyperventilating in a scene, Jennifer is ready to take some time off to recoup.
Jennifer talked to Today about her experience filming Mother! and also touched on what it’s like to be so famous that you no longer have a semblance of privacy.

In the interview, Jennifer candidly reveals the downside of fame.
Namely, that you’re no longer able to do daily activities, like hitting up your beloved local Starbucks, without getting recognized. This, coupled with the intense psychological thriller that is Mother!, has left Jennifer wanting to take more time for herself. In the interview with The Today Show, Jennifer explains the impact Mother! had on her psyche.
She tells Savannah Guthrie,
"I threw the script and was like, I can’t have this in my house. I don’t want this in my home. It’s an assault. It’s really assaulting. But that’s what makes it a masterpiece, and that’s what makes [director] Darren [Aronofsky] so brilliant, and that’s why I’ve always wanted to work with him."
And then it hits. When Savannah asks if she ever plans on taking a break, Jennifer replies, “I’m taking one, I don’t have anything set for two years.” And while she admits she doesn’t know what she’ll be doing during that time, we’re crossing our fingers that some time for self-care is included. More than anything, we’re proud of Jennifer for recognizing her mental health needs.
