We cannot look away from this super lifelike Wonder Woman statue
It is no secret that we are psyched for the new Wonder Woman movie. Finally, a feminist badass superhero with her own film! (One day, Black Widow, one day.) Unfortunately, the film movie won’t be out until June. So this has us drooling over any trailer we see. Luckily for us, as io9 reports, there’s now a $2,000 incredibly lifelike Wonder Woman statue we can feast our eyes upon.
That’s right, a statue. And, guys, it’s blowing our minds.
Seriously, how does magic like this exist? Now that we’ve finished watching the new Wonder Woman trailer, we can ogle the work of Sideshow and Prime 1 Studio. In fact, their statue of Wonder Woman is so realistic it contains veins. (Flashbacks to the hosts at Westworld, anyone?)
Seriously, is this Wonder Woman breathing?
Wonder Woman, stop looking at us like that!
Even her hair is incredibly lifelike.
Plus, check out the details on Wonder Woman’s outfit.
According to io9:
"The statue’s about 40 inches tall and is moulded from polystone, which gives it weight and a stone-like feel. That weird hyper-realistic skin (with veins) is thanks to a translucent resin."
These guys nailed Gal Gadot’s facial expressions. I’m both impressed and, I’ll admit, a little bit terrified. For those collectors out there, there are only 750 statues. So get your wallet ready! And in case you don’t have around $2k lying around to spend on this statue, Sideshow also offers an “easy payment plan” starting at $236.25 a month.
Sure, she costs as much as a car lease. But we bet she’s worth it.
Fans, however, were quick to note that the half-scale qualification is misleading. Actress Gal Gadot is 5’10″. Twice forty inches is 6’8″. Oh well, close enough!
Now, if only Wonder Woman would premiere early, all our dreams would come true! Until then, we’ll make do with admiring the work of Prime 1 Studios and Sideshow. Or, at the very least, rewatching the trailer again and again and again. And if anyone wants to take their Wonder Woman statue with them to the premiere, take pics, please.
