All the yes — this isn’t the last we’ve seen of this “Wonder Woman” character
More than likely, you started crying *immediately* as soon as Wonder Woman started. But on the off chance you didn’t, more than likely the first time you really shed a tear was when — SPOILER — Antiope died on the beach after being attacked by the Germans. It is a cruel, cruel day when you have Robin Wright in a movie as a badass general, and then kill her 20 minutes later.
Sorry if you’re crying again right now thinking about this, but go ahead and dry your tears. This isn’t the last time we’re going to see Antiope and her majestic-AF skills with a sword, bow and arrow, and fists.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Queen of our Hearts Wright drops the lil tidbit that she’ll actually suit back up again as the great warrior for the upcoming Justice League. Isn’t that just ??
While talking about the relationship among Queen Hippolyta, Antiope, and Diana, Connie Nielsen (who plays Hippolyta) spills the beans, explaining, “[Wright and I] got to do more in Justice League as well [to build their relationship]. As sisters as well.”
Oh yes, we’re listening. You’ve got our full attention…but, unfortunately, the ladies don’t spill much more. However, Wright does chime in, explaining that we’ll get “more of the story [of the Amazon sisters] and…get some of [their] history.” Nielsen goes back to teasing that the two are “kind of badass as well,” but they can’t elaborate any further.
Listen, that alone has completely piqued our interest in Justice League SO much more. It certainly sounds like the scenes between Antiope and Hippolyta are merely flashbacks, but hey, you just never know when someone is going to come back from the dead…
*Cough* Steve Trevor *cough.*
