The first pic of Gal Gadot’s ‘Wonder Woman’ is here, and it is FIERCE
OH GIRL, bust out that golden Lasso of Truth, rev up that invisible jet and get ready — it’s about to get really, really real.
Gal Gadot, the incredible Israeli actress who nabbed the role of Wonder Woman from thousands of hopefuls just tweeted her first pic as the legendary DC Comics superhero and it is NOT what any of us expected.
Shooting the camera a thousand-yard stare, intense-as-all-hell (and why the hell not, girl?) this Wonder Woman’s about to show us all that she means serious business. She’s wearing a dark cape and what looks to be her signature tiara and cuffs. And she looks very tough, and very ready for whatever she’s about to take on. And honestly, though, if I had to wait 75 years to play this legendary superhero role, I’d get pretty fierce, too.
Gadot posted the pic on Twitter with the caption, “Almost 75 years in the making…#WonderWoman is underway.”
The upcoming film is written by Patty Jenkins who is best known for directing the Oscar-winning Charlize Theron performance in Monster.
Just from that pedigree alone, we can already tell this isn’t going to be the fluffy and feminine version of Wonder Woman we’ve seen in cartoons. This lady is gonna whoop ya and then maybe have a run-in with Charlize Theron in a dark alley, and we’re perfectly, totally fine with that.
Wonder Woman is scheduled to be released on June 23, 2017.
