It turns out that women sleep WAY differently from men — here’s how

What you’ve suspected all along is true: Women sleep WAY differently from men.
Sure, everything starts out sweetly.
But then women and men go in different directions, sleep-wise.
Here’s research we uncovered.
1. Women tend to get tired before men.
We all know about circadian rhythm from health class, right? It regulates your body in terms of when you should sleep and get up. Well, guess what?! Women may go to bed two hours earlier than men, Cosmopolitan reported, based on a study by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
2. Women tend to wake up before men.
Since women tend to go to sleep earlier than men, they also tend to get up earlier in the morning, reported Live Science. On average, women wake up 30 minutes earlier. Who knew?!
3. Women tend to suffer from insomnia more so than men.
“Age and gender are the most clearly identified demographic risk factors, with an increased prevalence in women and older adults,” according to a report by Thomas Roth, PhD, in the PMC, US National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health.
Lucky us, right?! But, there are insomnia solutions, so try, try, and try again.
4. Women tend to have colder feet and hands than men.
It’s probably happened to a lot of us — our boyfriend pulls away because our hands and/or feet are ~freezing~. We can thank circulation.
“The nerves that control blood flow to the hands and feet are more sensitive in women than in men,” Mark Eskandari, M.D., a vascular surgeon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, in Chicago, told Real Simple. “So when the temperature drops, their vessels constrict more, warming blood flow slows, and their extremities feel cold.” Plus, women tend to have lower blood pressure than men, he said, which also redirects the blood away from the hands and feet.
That. Explains. Everything.
