The reason why this woman is not ~pleased~ with KFC is relatable AF

You often hear of people suing fast-food chains like KFC or McDonald’s. Usually, these stories end up being viral hoaxes or urban legends. Seriously, how many times have you heard about a person suing your favorite joint over a deep fried rat’s head?

However, this woman is legitimately suing KFC and it’s for the most relatable reason.

We’ve all seen those ads where there’s a bucket brimming full of beautifully golden fried chicken, right? Well, 64-year-old Anna Wurtzburger of Dutchess County, New York, is suing the fried chicken chain for $20 million (!!!) after her bucket of chicken wasn’t filled right to the top with the delicacy.

According to CBS New York, Wurtzhurger’s suit comes after she saw the chains current $20 bucket advert, which sees Colonel Sanders wielding a bucket full to the top of fried chicken.

The commercial claims that for $20 you can feed an entire family. The meal deal comes with eight pieces of the Colonel’s chicken, along with sides.

Wurtzburger was disappointed when, after ordering the meal, she only received a bucket that was half-full of chicken. Disappointed by the fact that fried foods weren’t spilling out of her bucket, the 64-year-old complained to staff at the restaurant, only be to be told that the images depicted were only for advertising and that the buckets weren’t really like that. While she was offered $70 worth of coupons, Wurtzburger wasn’t having it.

"It’s the principle of the matter," she told CBS New York. "Sometimes you gotta hit people where they feel the hurt. For me, a corporation like that — would be in the pocketbook."

Wurtzburger therefore decided to contact a lawyer and sue.

In a video obtained by TMZ, the Dutchess County resident had this to say about the whole thing.

“What they show on the advertising is a full box of chicken,”Wurtzburger said. “They got to be kidding, they know it’s wrong…I’ll be honest with you, I could use the money, too.”

Despite Anna Wurtzburger’s protestations, KFC has said that they’ve done nothing wrong.

As CBS New York reports, the company released a statement claiming that the 64-year-old’s case was “meritless” and that they plan to ask the courts to drop the case.

Tbh, while we’re not 100% sure that Anna Wurtzburger has that much of a case against the fast food giant, we admire her dedication to her cause. Of course we’ve all been devastated when our buckets of fried chicken haven’t been over flowing with bountiful fried chicken, especially after seeing so much crispy golden goodness in the adverts.

Who knows, perhaps this could fracture the whole advertising world and open up a wider discussion about representation in commercials. Or, perhaps Wurtzburger should have accepted the coupons.

Whether it’s $20 million or $70, however, just think how much chicken that could buy…
