This woman was jailed for playing Ed Sheeran too loudly, and tbh we get it
We’ve all had those moments where we’ve been rocking out and playing our music at an ear splitting volume, but one woman has taken it even future. Yep, a woman in England has been sent to jail for playing Ed Sheeran too loudly.
Given that he’s current one of the most sought after and popular popstars of the moment, it’s no surprise that people are pretty much loving Ed Sheeran. The British singer, who recently released his third album ÷ (Divide), broke streaming records when he released the record, and has had the number one song in both America and the U.K. for WEEKS with the infectious and tropically tinged “Shape Of You” (which was, btw, written with Rihanna in mind).

Well, it seems one woman’s affinity for Ed Sheeran’s dulcet tones has gotten her into trouble with the law!
According to a report by ITV News, mother-of-three Sonia Bryce from Willenhall, England, has been sentenced to eight weeks in prison after she repeatedly played Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” on a loop and at full volume.
The move came after Bryce’s landlords, Walsall Housing Group Ltd, had previously obtained a court order that forbid her from creating a nuisance or a disturbance.
Speaking during her sentencing, Judge Philip Gregory said, “You must learn that you should behave as a reasonable and responsible adult and not make life for your neighbours the misery that you have.”
As The Daily Mail reports, Bryce allegedly played Sheeran’s hit song for 30 minutes continuously, much to the chagrin of her neighbours. However, in court Bryce denied that she was a fan of Sheeran’s music.
Despite her pleas, however, the judge said that Bryce had shown contempt for her prior court order, adding, “You have displayed nothing but violent animosity towards your neighbour, and I am quite convinced that you do not care.”
“Everybody is entitled to live in a degree of peace and quiet with the usual give and take of society, but you do not behave like a civilised person, and you have got to learn that you will,” he said.
