We’re are allllll about Winona Ryder’s new Marc Jacobs campaign

Monday afternoon, Marc Jacobs “leaked” the news that the face of his 2016 Marc Jacobs Beauty campaign would be ’90s icon, alt girl role model, and future Beetlejuice 2 star Winona Ryder. The first image of the campaign features a sultry ’60s inspired Ryder pressed up against her own reflection while wearing pearls and a purrfect cat-eye.

Photographed by David Sims and styled by Katie Eleanor Grand (editor-in-chief of Love Magazine), the stunning photo features hair by Guido Palau (Global Creative Director for Redken) and makeup by Diane Kendal. The look features Marc Jacobs brand fine liner eye crayon, velvet noir mascara and nude lipstick, and was inspired by The Last Year at Marienbad, a moody ’60s French drama told in flashback, featuring aristocrats and current Jacobs muse, Delphine Seyring.

This isn’t the first time that the actress and fashion designer have been linked. Ryder has been a longtime friend and collaborator of the designer. She’s been previously photographed for Marc Jacobs’ Fall ’15 campaign and in 2003 after she was famously arrested for shoplifting his clothes in Beverly Hills.

Since the announcement, Jacobs has posted a painting of Ryder by artist Sam McKinniss and throwback photos of the two of them from 2011 and 2005. If you need us, we’ll be binge-watching Winona’s entire filmography. Winona (and Marc!) forever.
