Wilmer Valderrama said the most mature thing about his breakup with Demi Lovato
It’s been nearly five months since Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama announced their breakup. The ex-lovebirds were together for six years, so naturally, it was pretty upsetting to hear that one of our favorite couples had broken up. But as we must do with all bad news, we pretended like it didn’t happen and went about our day.
Just kidding. But seriously, we were sad to see their relationship end. Yet, the pair promised to stay friends and to always support each other, making the breakup a little easier on fans. (And it seems like that’s exactly what they’re doing.)
At the Paley Center for Media’s Tribute to Hispanic Achievements in Television on Monday night, Entertainment Tonight caught up with Valderrama, and he had nothing but nice things to say about Lovato.
“Honestly, I only wish nothing but the most incredible things for her,” he said.
Lovato recently revealed the reason why she decided to break things off with Valderrama in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“Being sick was always a part of my relationship with him,” she said. “I always had something wrong with me. I needed to let go of that.”
Her reasoning may not make sense to everyone, but it’s what she needed to do and that’s something we can totally get behind. As difficult as the breakup probably was for Valderrama, it sounds like he fully supports her decision and continues to want nothing but the best for her.
In the meantime, Lovato has stayed super busy over the summer on her Future Now Tour with Nick Jonas.
Ultimately, we wish both Lovato and Valderrama the best and hope their hearts have healed.
