Will Smith is totally supportive of Jaden’s progressive clothing choices

Last month, Jaden Smith totally rocked Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2016 campaign, which heavily featured the 17-year-old dressed in super stylish clothing, some of which was traditionally considered women’s. This gave some people pause, but we think it’s awesome, and so does Jaden’s father, Will Smith. In an interview for BBC Radio 1Xtra, the actor spoke about his parenting style, and how he stands behind all his children’s decisions, even they make people uncomfortable.

“There’s a really powerful internal quality as an artist that as parents we encourage,” he explained to DJ A.Dot. “You gotta get out on the edge, you have to try things, you have to be comfortable doing things that people don’t agree with, and you have to be comfortable doing things that you could fail.”

While this is definitely good advice, turns out Jaden doesn’t need it. “Jaden is 100% fearless, he will do anything,” will continued. “So as a parent it’s scary, it’s really terrifying – but he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and he just doesn’t concern himself with what people think.”

Sounds like we could all take a leaf out of Jaden’s book, and definitely out of his wardrobe.
