Will Smith once bummed gas money off a fan and the story is beyond adorable

Obviously, being a celebrity comes with endless perks, but we’re pretty sure Will Smith didn’t count borrowing gas money from fans as one of the advantages of fame before he became a huge Hollywood star. People reports that the Collateral Beauty star copped to bumming 10 bucks off a fan who approached him for a photo, a hilarious tale the actor recounted during his Monday night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

"I was driving and I realized I was on E," Smith told Kimmel. "I was about 30 minutes from my house, so I pulled into the gas station and I didn't have my wallet."

“I looked over on the other side and he was like 36 years old. I was like, ‘That dude’s a Fresh Prince fan,’” Smith said. “You can spot them.”

In the end, the fan lent Smith the cash but refused to give the actor contact info to repay him.

Although Will Smith is a megastar with hit films and songs out the wazoo, this just goes to show that celebs are totally normal humans who sometimes find themselves away from home with their gas tanks on E.

But the difference between them and the rest of the fuel-less, stranded people of the world is that there’s no reason for road trips to make them nervous because some enthusiastic (although unsuspecting) fan will likely appear out of nowhere and save the day.
