Will Smith’s Deadshot just made our ‘Suicide Squad’ dreams come true
First we got a preview of The Joker, then Harley Quinn, followed by Enchantress. Now, finishing off a little parade of Suicide Squad sneak peeks, we’ve got a glimpse of what Will Smith will look like as Deadshot.
Smith is also getting his own cover for Empire magazine, which is going to make it hard for us to decide WHICH one to buy (but we’ll probably end up buying them all). Though there are a few different covers out there, inside each is the same feature story about director David Ayer’s upcoming jump into the D.C. Universe. Though the movie is still nine months away, we’ve got some brand new intel about what we’re going to see when it hits the big screen.
Leto’s pictures as The Joker teased his relationship with Robbie’s Harley, but now according to Smith, Deadshot — real name, Floyd Lawton — is also going to try to woo the “biggest troublemaker.”
“Deadshot’s actually eyeballing [Harley] a little bit,” Smith revealed to Empire. “There’s a pretty ragged romantic triangle there.”
The third member of that triangle just happens to be The Joker, who you don’t want to mess with.
It sounds like things might get very intense during Suicide Squad for these three, but thankfully, as Ayer mentions, it’s not just about a love triangle. Instead, “It’s about [Harley] breaking free of The Joker and becoming this fully actualized, independent person.” We like the sound of that.
The December issue of Empire magazine hits stands very soon, and Suicide Squad hits theaters very far from now on August 5th 2016.
