We will finally be reunited with this “Game of Thrones” character this season

While the new season of Game of Thrones has ALREADY had its fair share of bloodshed, there has been one notable bright spot: The remaining Starks are having a bit of a comeback. Last week, we caught up with Bran (and Hodor, oh God) and Jon Snow — and on Sunday, we will hopefully be hearing from the youngest of the Stark clan.

Maisie Williams, who plays the fierce Arya Stark, confirmed that we’d soon be getting a Rickon Stark update during a BBC1 radio interview on Thursday. And then immediately regretted it. “Oh no, I’m literally going to go off the air and someone’s going to email me!” she said after responding to a caller’s question regarding Rickon’s whereabouts.

So where has Rickon been? The last time viewers saw the baby Stark, it was Season 3.

Bran and Rickon had fled Winterfell after their childhood home was taken over first by Theon Greyjoy, (later, the Boltons took charge). Upon his initial defeat of Winterfell, Theon Greyjoy murdered and burned the bodies of two local farm boys, claiming they were Bran and Rickon, in order to frighten/piss off/be an asshole towards the Stark siblings. And it worked, for the most part. A whole lot of people continue, even in Season 6, to think the two of them are dead.

After a significant amount of time spent on the run with Jojen Reed (a fellow warg) and Jojen’s sister, Meera, as well as Hodor and Osha, the Stark’s free folk servant, Bran decides Rickon’s well-being is necessary to the survival of the Starks. Rickon is sent, along with Osha and Shaggydog, Rickon’s direwolf, to seek refuge at the Last Hearth, seat of House Umber. And then that was it! No more news!

Will Rickon and Osha make it? What will become of Rickon? MTV points out that Rickon MIGHT basically be handed over to Ramsay Bolton as a “gift,” because “House Umber holds fealty to House Stark of Winterfell.” Ramsay is trying to take over the ENTIRE North, so will House Umber bow down to Ramsay and let him take Rickon as some sort of exchange? The episode IS called “Oathbreaker,” after all. What will Ramsay DO to Rickon though? Maybe we best not even think about it for now.
