Why the stars of ‘Outlander’ aren’t dating
If you’re anything like me, you’ve binge-watched the Starz series Outlander within 24-hours, fell in love with Sam Heughan, started talking in a Scottish accent, and priced out a trip to Scotland because what if those stones are really there? No, just me? Hey, I know I’m not the only one who fell head over heels for Outlander. The series recently won a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show. They’ve also been nominated for multiple Golden Globes. The love is there.
If you’re a fan of the show and ever wondered if Jamie and Claire’s intense relationship translated offscreen, we have your answer. The actors, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe set the record straight in a recent interview with E!. So, did their super steamy onscreen love spark a real life romance? That’s a big no.
Caitriona settles any rumors by saying, “We’re not together. It’s funny. We’ve always said from the get go that we’re incredibly great friends. And to have that friendship and that closeness and to be able to get along as we do on set, it’s great that we’re able to get along that well, but we’re not together. I’m sorry to break people’s hearts. They like to try to maybe replicate the Claire and Jamie story. But I think it would be difficult for us to work together and be together.”
They may not be dating offscreen, but you can tell these two have chemistry for days and are totally comfortable with one another (you’d have to be with some of the scenes they’ve shot).
Outlander season two returns in April on Starz and will find Jamie and Claire in Paris trying to change the course of history. No bigs! In the meantime, you can watch season one over and over again on Starz or Hulu.
Bye for noo, lassies. (I can’t be stopped)
