These white lion cubs are everything that is cute in this world
Four white lion babies are celebrating their eight-week birthday at the Toronto Zoo, and they’re every bit as adorable as you’d expect. Probably more so. White lions are a genetic rarity. (Contrary to popular belief, they DO occur in nature and are not just a product of manmade genetic tampering.) They’re beautiful, but they’re also very endangered, mostly due to the canned hunting industry. According to the Global White Lion Protection Trust, less that thirteen white lions still exist in the wild. So these sweet babies aren’t only adorable, they’re also pretty important.
The Toronto Zoo celebrated the cubs (all boys) reaching their eight-week mark by releasing a video. In the short clip, the lion cubs yawn, blink at the camera and generally look too adorable for words. I swear, I think these little lions are fully aware of what a big deal they are. Is it just me, or do they look like they’re actually posing? (It can’t be just me, can it?)
