Hotels to stay in near Coachella, because not everyone wants to sleep in their car
Tomorrow, April 13th, marks the kickoff to one of the year’s biggest music festivals: Coachella! And while you may have planned your trek to the West Coast and picked out your best boho outfit, you may still be wondering where exactly to stay.
Coachella accommodations are admittedly a little tricky, seeing as the festival is in the middle of a literal desert. Coachella is just under an hour from Palm Springs, the closest city. However the festival is offering several package deals, perhaps the best being a one-stop option that includes three-day general admission for two to four people, a three night hotel stay, and shuttle transportation. So if roughing it in a tent or sleeping in your car isn’t your thing, here’s a list of hotels that are part of the one-stop package.
(Note: the one-stop packages aren’t cheap. They start at about $3,500, but you can of course also just opt to stay at one of the below hotels if you have your own means of transportation).
Hilton Palm Springs
Located near the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains, Hilton Palm Springs is a desert chic resort with a fully stocked fitness and recreation center, pool and spa. Its business meeting areas are also ideal if you have to plug in and catch up on work after a day of jamming out.
La Quinta Resort and Club
Located just fifteen minutes away from Coachella, La Quinta offers a high-class California desert experience with crystal blue pools facing the Santa Rosa Mountains and five world class golf courses that offer 18 hole ranges in the mountains. If “glamping” in the desert isn’t your thing you might want to consider this five-star experience.
JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort
With a ginormous pool oasis overlooking a sunset over the mountains, the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort also ranks up as a top choice. The hotel offers a spa and golf, and is conveniently located near the historical Sunnylands estate and just thirty minutes from Coachella.
Renaissance Indian Wells Resort and Spa
Another Marriott hotel conveniently located near Coachella, Renaissance Indian Wells Resort and Spa isn’t short on lounges or poolside cabanas. After a full day of sunburning in the desert you can get a full body wrap at the Spa Esmeralda.
Now that you’ve figured out where to rest your head at the end of a long day of festivaling, you can focus on staking out your perfect spot in front of the stage.
There are also on-site accommodations for both weekends, but all are sold out at this time. You can get further information about all accommodations here.
Good luck booking those hotel rooms, and have a blast!
