The When We Were Young 2023 Festival Lineup Will Make Your Emo Heart Full
Blink-182 is even coming back after a seven-year hiatus!
The new lineup for the 2023 When We Were Young music festival in Las Vegas has just been announced and it feels so nostalgic, we’re about to grab our Sony Discman and have a few burned CD throwback sessions.
Alt-rock and emo music holds a special place in the hearts of millennials. After all, if you didn’t post some sad girl lyrics from Taking Back Sunday in your AIM profile, were you even online between 1999 and 2005 (respectively?)
Green Day and Blink-182 are the main headliners, with loads of other early 2000s bands supporting the event. Michelle Branch is also rumored to make an appearance, according to Nylon.
What’s our age again? When We Were Young, 2023. LFG 🖤

“What if we told you we just made the best album of our career” Blink 182’s lead vocalist Tom DeLonge hinted in a recent tweet. The band is set to release their first new song, “Edging,” since they parted ways seven years ago.

Tickets are officially set to be released on Friday, October 14 at 10 am PT. Prices start at $249 for General Admission tix and go as high as a cool $17,000 for a VIP Cabana package (which includes perks like a dedicated, shaded, roped-off viewing area with security, complimentary drinks and snacks, line skipping, and, maybe most important of all in the hot Vegas sun, private, air-conditioned bathrooms).
Loads of other artists are taking this festival as a chance to release new stuff of their own in advance. Paramore, Pierce the Veil, and more have just added a few new singles to the alt-rock and emo universe.
There’s sure to be more as the months get closer to the official festival date of October 23rd, 2023.
Already, the memes about millennials aging (and loving it) are popping up:

Super torn between the nostalgic pull of seeing many of my favorite bands from middle school vs the fact that paying $100s for a concert is the antithesis of #punk. #WhenWeWereYoungFest #blink182 #sum41 #poppunk

If you can’t make it to Vegas, you might be able to catch Blink-182 on their reunion tour next year. A few other emo bands will be with them, and we’re sure there will be more surprises in store as well.

Maybe new wifey Kourtney Kardashian will make an appearance in support of hubby Travis Barker?
