Instagrams we can’t stop staring at from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

In case you didn’t know, the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner is more or less the political equivalent of a Comedy Central Roast. Prominent politicians (including President Barack Obama himself) get to make fun of themselves, tease their peers, and rub shoulders with influential personalities from all walks of fame. Last weekend’s dinner was no exception, and if you haven’t watched the highlights yet, we recommend you do so immediately: the event was hilarious, and few were left unscathed. (Plus, Cecily Strong made for an incredible host.)

And for those of us who couldn’t be there (which is, of course, most of us), we can live now vicariously through those who were, thanks to Instagram. Perhaps most notably, Vanity Fair showcased a gorgeous selection of portraits from the Vanity Fair/Bloomberg White House Correspondents’ after party, shot by photographer Jonas Fredwall Karlsson. The event, held at the French Ambassador’s residence in Washington, D.C., featured a portrait studio where celebrities and politicians could have their photos taken by Karlsson, and the results were absolutely stunning.

Along with Vanity Fair‘s photographs, there were quite a few other Instagram snaps from the evening that we can’t stop obsessing over. Here is a round-up of some of our favorites.
