Some real Netflix gems are disappearing in June

Netflix giveth, and Netflix taketh away. Just like at the start of every other month, the streaming site gives us a bunch of new titles to binge this June, but at the same time they take away a healthy portion. So this is your friendly end-of-month reminder to add these titles to your queue before they disappear from the site forever (or, until they come back again).

Some of the titles leaving this month include Deep Blue Sea, G.I. Jane, Snatch, The Phantom of the Opera,  Godzilla (the one with Matthew Broderick) Amadeus, The Guilt Trip, and Madonna’s MDNA Tour. (Here are all the rest.) Go ahead and add all of those bad boys to your to-binge list, and then make room and for these must-sees.

Ever After: A Cinderella Story (June 1)

YES, this is the one with Drew Barrymore. YES, this is the one with her “top of the stairs” moment. And YES, this one will be sorely missed once its gone from the site.

Rain Man (June 1)

It won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, and Dustin Hoffman took home Best Actor for his role as Raymond, an autistic savant and older brother to Tom Cruise’s Charlie. The two are estranged brothers and are brought back together after the death of their father. The movie is a classic.

Silence of the Lambs (June 1)

Check out the first film featuring Hannibal Lector. It stars Anthony Hopkins as Lector, and Jodie Foster as Claire, the FBI agent trying to work with him. Just maybe don’t watch this one before bed.

The Rocketeer (June 1)

If Disney’s looking for another movie to remake, let’s suggest The Rocketeer. The Rocketeer is also a comic book character, so he’d really fit right in with the rest of the Marvel crew. But before the remake that I really hope happens, check out the original version from 1991, which is actually set in 1938. The Rocketeer can fly. So, why wouldn’t Disney remake this?

Crash (June 6)

Another big Oscar winner, Crash tells the intertwining story of a group of people all in the Los Angeles area. It deals with racial and social issues, which are still prevalent today. It’s also got an amazing cast, including Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard, Thandie Newton, and Ryan Phillippe.

Tin Man (June 15)

Who doesn’t love a re-telling of the Wizard of Oz? This is a great one, because it features our girl Zooey playing Dorothy, or as she’s known in the movie, DG. It’s a three-part mini-series, so you’re going to want to binge every part of it before it disappears from streaming.

Practical Magic (June 20)

Have you ever wanted to watch a movie where Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman play sisters? Oh, and also they’re witches? That movie exists, and it’s called Practical Magic. It gets a little trippy in the middle, but that’s what happens when witchcraft is involved.

Steel Magnolias (June 30)

Hold up, what do you mean we won’t be able to watch Steel Magnolias on the regular anymore? OK, quick, everyone, watch this classic as many times as possible so we can get a ton of good cries out before it’s gone.

The Baby-Sitters Club, Season 1 (June 30)

The one and ONLY season of this show is leaving the site at the end of the month. There are only 13 episodes, but there should probably be a million episodes. Or, a reboot of the series at least. I need to know what Mallory, Dawn, Kristy, Mary Anne, Stacey, and Claudia are doing today.
