What is a BB Cream, Anyway?
BB Cream. I know you’ve heard the term a thousand times but do you know what a BB cream even is? BB most commonly stands for beauty balm but can also stand for blemish balm or blemish base. It seems to be that every cosmetic line in the galaxy today has this so-called BB cream, but what exactly is it? And why should you try it?
BB creams treat the skins appearance with the highest levels of active skincare ingredients. These creams are multitasking beauty products that hydrate, prime, protect and perfect all in one. I’ve found that I prefer a full coverage without the heavy feel and this BB cream by Loreal is fabulous for that. It does cover all of my imperfections while leaving my skin looking and feeling bare.
This BB is an awesome product for the price! I would definitely recommend this one to my best friend, mother, coworker or a passing stranger on the street.
Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream $48.00
Getting to be my ALL TIME favorite BB cream is Glow Time by Jane Iredale. This BB cream is magical to say the least and comes in 6 different shades. If you don’t know about Jane Iredale don’t feel silly. This line is very exclusive and will usually only be seen at the high dollar department stores such as Nordstrom or in plastic surgeon offices (but can also be purchased online).
Jane like La Bella Donna from my previous post is a mineral line of makeup. Her products can be found in plastic surgeon offices because they sport such awesome coverage that they are used to hide scaring. BUT do not assume the coverage looks or feels heavy! This BB cream is completely flawless and will cover blemishes, minimize pore size, disguise wrinkles and literally make you glow. I could rant and rave a whole post for this BB but just trust me when I say this one is worth the purchase.
Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream SPF 15 $10.35
Last but not least is the Garnier Skin Renew Miracle skin perfector BB Cream. This one comes in two different shades (we do wish it had more). This little miracle is packed with antioxidants to make your skin feel as good as it looks. The color appears nearly sheer on the skin and goes on super smooth due to the nice creamy texture. The mineral pigments within the formula camouflage any minor skin issues you may have with your complexion, while leaving your skin feeling naked. This BB was named Readers’ Choice Breakthrough in 2013.
