What has Ann Curry been up to since leaving “Today”?
It’s been been a tumultuous week for Today. The popular morning talk show has been under immense scrutiny since anchor Matt Lauer was fired amid allegations of sexual misconduct. And while the Today staff are still grappling with the fallout of this story, many are now wondering what former Today cohost Ann Curry has been up to since leaving the show.
From 1997 to 2012, Curry was a constant presence on the morning show — first as a substitute anchor, then as an official co-anchor starting in 2011. But Curry was infamously let ago after only a year of co-anchoring with Lauer, and it was rumored that her abrupt dismissal was due to the fact that he simply didn’t like her.
Curry said goodbye to the Today show audience in tears, her body distinctly pointed away from Lauer in a now-famous clip.

In light of recent events, many are wondering what Curry has been up to these past five years. And it seems the journalist has been busier than ever.
Although Ann Curry left Today in 2012, she hasn’t stopped reporting the news. Since her departure, Curry has been hard at work on a number of projects. She’s executive producer of the upcoming PBS docuseries We’ll Meet Again. The show will focus on reuniting individuals who survived traumatic experiences with the people who helped them through it.
Although We’ll Meet Again signifies a major television return for Curry, it’s not her only post-Today project. Curry also runs her own media startup. This allows her to conduct interviews for a variety of major outlets, chasing the stories that she considers the most important and impactful.
We’re thrilled that Curry has been doing so well since leaving Today. And considering Matt Lauer was rumored to be the driving force behind her departure, we think her story adds credence to a popular saying: “Living well is the best revenge.”
