We’ve got a new ‘Steve Jobs’ trailer and it’s packed with star power

The latest trailer for Aaron Sorkin’s Steve Jobs was released yesterday, and it looks intense. In the film, which is directed by Danny Boyle, Michael Fassbender takes on the role of the controversial man behind Apple. Judging by this trailer, that controversy will be front and center.

The film is based on the 2011 biography by Walter Isaacson and Sorkin adapted it to the screen. According to CBS, the film is going to feature three real-time scenes, spanning Steve Jobs’ 16-year career. It’s an interesting method for telling a complex story, and one that could payoff by highlighting the drastic changes and accomplishments in Jobs’ life over the course of a relatively short period of time. Seth Rogen co-stars as Steve Wozniak, the Apple co-founder, while Kate Winslet plays Joanna Hoffman, Jobs’ wife.

In this trailer, Jobs’ abrasiveness is largely the focus. “If you keep alienating people for no reason there’s going to be no one left for it to say hello to,” Hoffman says when Jobs explains how the Apple computer is “friendly.” Jobs is seen sparring with Wozniak, theater managers, his own team, Apple’s board — Sorkin doesn’t appear to be attempting to lionize him.

Check out the trailer below, and look for the film in theaters October 9.
