The new “Westworld” trailer feels like “Game of Thrones” in the wild, wild west

If you spend your free time wading through Game of Thrones theories and filling the empty place in your TV schedule with The Shannara Chronicles, then have we got the next big thing for you. Westworld is HBO’s newest large scale genre project, and it looks like it’s going to be jam-packed with the beautiful scenery, beautiful people, badass action, and wild twists and turns we’ve come to love and expect from Game of Thrones.

Basically, Westworld is everything we’ve ever wanted. And we’ve got a new trailer!

It looks like if you married Firefly to AMC’s Humans, married that baby to Game of Thrones, and threw in Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, James Marsden, and Thandie Newton for good measure.

Has HBO been peaking at our Christmas list?

Westworld basically tells the story of a virtual reality adult amusement park where visitors can pay to live in the wild, wild west, peopled by androids programmed to thrill and fulfill them. Of course, as always happens with artificial intelligence, it looks like the androids start to become self-aware, which is almost never good for mankind.

The trailers are dark and creepy (and also, hi, BEAUTIFUL?) and promise all of the sex, violence, and complicated relationships we miss so dearly when Game of Thrones is on hiatus, so we reeeeeally can’t wait to get this show in our eyeballs.
