“Westworld” season 2 just got delayed and UGH, we don’t want to wait
There’s been a lot — and we mean a lot of amazing TV in the last year. But nothing was quite like HBO’s Westworld. As soon as we set eyes on the sci-fi show, we instantly became obsessed. And we weren’t the only ones.
The android adventure had fans all over sharing theories about what Westworld would do next, who the Man in Black was, and what secret Dolores was hiding. Even after we got all of those answers, fans are still buzzing with ideas and even more theories about Westworld‘s season 2.
With such an explosive first season, watchers can’t wait to see what happens next. Unfortunately, they’re going to have to.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Westworld is one of many shows that won’t return until 2018.
That’s because showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy “want to have all 10 episodes written before filming.”
We’re just over here wishing they could discover the already finished scripts under their floorboards, Maeve-style.
This isn’t terribly surprising news. iDigitalTimes reminds us that production also shut down for two months in season one. Again, Nolan and Joy wanted to have their final few episodes figured out before filming anything else.
So it makes sense that they’d repeat the move, making sure the story is perfect and all wrinkles ironed out before they start finalizing anything. Don’t want any small mistakes like those reveries getting in there and screwing up the rest of the code.
We’re super bummed that we’re going to have wait at least a full year for even a hint of a samurai/shogun world, but we know the wait will be worth it.
