Fight your “Westworld” withdrawal with this amazing 80s remake of the credits that’s totally tubular

We’re in mourning for the end of Westworld’s first season. After all, if the rumors are true, we’ll have to wait over a year for the next installment! Nooooooooo. That high-pitched wail you hear? That’s us screaming. As we battle our withdrawal symptoms we’re grateful for our fellow fans, who make creative tributes such as this retro 1980’s Westworld opening. The fan who made this video, YouTube user Messypandas, is a hero. After all, we haven’t known what to do with ourselves now that the show is done. Apparently, some of us create.

Check out this retro 1980’s Westworld opening below:

So clever, right? It feels pitch perfect. Those graphics! The synth. While the film Westworld was released in 1973, we think that if television executives had decided to make a series back in the early 1980’s, their opening would definitely look something like this.

Other fans are choosing to remake parts of Westworld, specifically The Maze, with their 3D printers, and the results are seriously impressive:

We wonder how the writers of Westworld feel about their incredibly massive fan following? The pressure must be pretty intense. Well, if they need a smile, all they need to do is go on the internet and witness the outpouring of creativity flooding from fans.

Westworld creator Jonathan Nolan seems to appreciate his fans immensely. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly he said:

“Part of the fun is people speculating about what they’re are seeing. There’s some amazing speculation out there. There are some theories that are so elaborate and beautiful that you wish you thought of them yourself."

That’s high praise, coming from his creative mind! Now stop interviewing, Jonathan, and get to writing! We want to know what happens next!
