There’s mermaid hair, and then there’s The Little Mermaid hair. The former is the trend of coloring hair with primarily blues, greens, and purples to create a whimsical, oceanic effect.

The latter, on the other hand, is a mind-blowing, super literal interpretation. You want mermaid hair? Oh, we’ve GOT some mermaid hair for you. This is some REAL mermaid hair.

It is BONKERS and it is AWESOME.
This design isn’t actually painted onto someone’s hair, because that would take forever and also be close to impossible. Instead, as the image shows, the gorgeous design (and, tbh, somewhat bananas, but bananas in a GOOD WAY) picture of Ariel was painted onto extensions. Then, once those extensions dried, they were affixed to someone’s head of hair to go out and walk down the…what’s the word? Oh, street.
Having what is basically a hair-photo of a Disney princess is a little intense, and we have to applaud the commitment of the stylist, DJ Victory, and of her model. We know for sure, we’ll never think of “mermaid hair” the same way again.
Also, when can we make an appointment to get this done ourselves??
