The Weeknd just shared his track with Daft Punk and it’s moody AF
It doesn’t feel like that long ago that the airwaves and the music world was ruled by Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weeknd.
The Canadian-born singer had three HUGE Billboard hits in the shape of “Earned It,” “Can’t Feel My Face,” and the atmospheric “The Hills.” Similarly, he scored a massive number one album with his record Beauty Behind the Madness, which featured the likes of Lana Del Rey, Ed Sheeran, and production by pop maestro Max Martin.
Despite this all only happening 12 months ago, you can’t keep an artist down when they’re on a roll, and The Weeknd is BACK.
Earlier this week, the star mysteriously deleted all his Instagram posts and changed his username. He then teased his upcoming album, titled Starboy, by sharing the album’s artwork along with the fact that he’d cut off his signature hair.

The album, which is said to be set for release on November 25th, is rumored to have collaborations with Drake and Travis Scott. false
Now, The Weeknd has premiered the first single and title track from the album and it’s moody AF.
Featuring electronic pioneers and disco raconteurs Daft Punk – their first new song since working Pharrell Williams – the track is atmospheric, catchy, but still very The Weeknd.

Earlier this year, The Weeknd featured on Kanye West’s track “FML,” taken from his experimental album The Life of Pablo, and more recently appeared on Beyoncé’s award winning second visual album Lemonade on the track “6 Inch.”
Starboy is set for release on November 25th. You can pre-order the album here.
