Kirsten Dunst Says “Obviously I’m A Feminist”
Dunst got dinged a while back for her comments about needing “a man to be a man and a woman to be a woman,” but she clarifies in a new interview with Flaunt magazine that her comments were “misconstrued” (she insists she was being specific about her own personal family dynamic), and more importantly, goes on the record saying “Obviously, I’m a feminist.”
“Feminist Panties” Show What’s Wrong With Social Media Feminism
Who Made Your Pants, a lingerie company in the UK, employs refugee women to sew the panties they produce, garnering a lot of support from prominent feminists on Twitter. Still, it raises the important question: can we really give ourselves a pat for the act of buying underwear? Does an online purchase a revolution make?
In “The Little Engine That Could” Some See An Early Feminist Hero
The gender of our multi-wheeled hero in the childhood classic “The Little Engine That Could” is never specified, leading some to believe that the blue little engine was a she and “I think I can, I think I can” was the rallying cry that predated Sheryl Sandberg’s “Lean In.”
“Feminist Biology” Is Now A Thing
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is now offering a post-doctorate in “Feminist Biology,” it’s the first program of its kind in the country, possibly the world. Can’t WAIT to see the kind of work that comes out of this program, good job science.
